Girlfriend’s mom killer sentenced to 27 years to life

Tony Sexton, 37, of 108-17 160th St., was convicted in January of second-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence after representing himself before Queens Supreme Court Justice Robert Hanophy. The judge imposed the indeterminate sentence and ordered Sexton to pay a $5,000 fine, Brown said. Comment.

Cambria Heights cop shooter sentenced

Lasana Philbert, 23, of 117-36 229th St. in Cambria Heights, was sentenced to 12 years in prison by Queens Supreme Court Justice Daniel Lewis, Brown said. Comment.

Cyclist struck on Roosevelt Avenue

Police from the 110th Precinct arrived at the scene after the Mitsubishi driver called 911, authorities said. The cyclist was taken to New York Hospital Queens, where he was pronounced dead at 3:20 p.m., police said. The cyclist's identity has not been released. The driver remained at the scene, police said. No criminality was suspected and the police are still investigating, authorities said. Comment.

While we reported that Feldman "believed that Norman's threat to [former Civil Court Justice Karen] Yellen constituted a crime," he instead emphatically contends that at no time did he believe that he or Norman were committing a crime. Comment.

Fire leaves dozen homeless in Corona

Two firefighters were hurt battling the flames at 53-56 97th Place, which Fire Chief Steven Kubler said began just after 10 p.m. and appeared to have originated in a carport attached to the north side of the building. Comment.

Fresh Meadows collision kills 1, hurts 3

Daniel Luey, 48, of 80-18 189th St. in Holliswood, was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said. Luey's passengers were both listed in critical condition at New York Hospital Center of Queens. The driver of the Lincoln, an 88-year-old man, was taken to the hospital for observation, police said. Comment.

Woodhaven teen arrested in Brooklyn stabbing

Michael Estrella, 17, of 78-21 90th Rd. in Woodhaven, was charged Monday with gang assault, assault and criminal possession of a weapon for his involvement in the stabbing death of 20-year-old Gerlin Collado of 685 East 5th St. in Manhattan, police said. Comment.
