Madison St. woman mailed powder: FBI

A former teacher living in Ridgewood was arrested Oct. 29 for allegedly sending mail with white powder inside to former co-workers, her neighbors and acquaintances with false addresses of people she had accused of being in the drug trade, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Comment.

Koslowitz gets money for upkeep on Queens Boulevard

City Councilwoman Karen Koslowitz (D-Forest Hills) secured funds to clean up a heavily trafficked and highly commercial portion of Rego Park using a worker from The Doe Fund, an organization that helps to employ formerly homeless or incarcerated men find housing and work as part of an effort to reintegrate them into society, the lawmaker said last week. Comment.
