Hurricane Heros: Volunteer firefighters honored for work during Sandy

Five volunteer fire departments in southern Queens were honored for their heroic work during and after Hurricane Sandy prior to a meeting of the City Council last week. Each department was awarded a City Council proclamation by Speaker Christine Quinn and Councilman Eric Ulrich. The five departments that were honored were from West Hamilton Beach, Broad Channel, Roxbury, Point Breeze and Rockaway Point. Comment.
