Glendale man guilty of Jamaica murder

On March 22, 2008, Omo Deokoro, 32, of 834 Central Ave., got into an argument with Nomar Anderson, 30, outside Loretta’s West Indian American Cuisine at 109-24 Merrick Blvd. in Jamaica, the DA said. Deokoro shot Anderson multiple times and police who heard the shots saw the Glendale man duck inside the restaurant where he discarded the gun and his shirt. Comment.

Man chased down street by armed men: DA

Kevin Avalos, 19, of the Pomonok Houses in Fresh Meadows and Nolan Lopez, 20, of Jackson Heights began chasing the other man around 4 p.m. March 6 at the intersection of 82nd Street and 37th Avenue, the DA said. Comment.

Brooklyn rapper slain after concert in Jamaica

Around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Gregory Brown, 22, who went by the stage name G Baby, got into a fight outside the club Amazura at Archer Avenue and 143rd Street, police and MTV News reported. Brown was shot multiple times in the torso and a 23-year-old man was shot once in the leg. Comment.

At 3:27 p.m. March 7, Brady Hollenquest, 46, entered the mall, approached a booth and demanded money from the cash register, according to a criminal complaint filed by the DA’s office. Comment.

Marcelo Moreno, 23, was charged with assault and weapon possession, the DA said. He was released on his own recognizance and ordered to return April 20. Comment.

Teen dies in wreck on Grand Central Parkway

Elaine Galindo, 17, of South Ozone Park, was in a 1997 Honda Civic traveling east on the Grand Central Parkway at 49th Avenue around 10:30 p.m. when it slammed into the rear of a flatbed tow truck assisting a disabled car in the right lane, police said. Comment.
