Religion has no place in political campaigns

I fail to understand the brouhaha over the candidacy of Jeff Gottlieb in the 6th Congressional District, claiming it is a ploy to deprive candidate state Assemblyman Rory Lancman (D-Fresh Meadows) of the “Jewish vote” (“Lancman calls Gottlieb ‘hack’ in primary run,” Flushing Times, April 12-18). Comment.

Silverstein to campaign for Halloran’s Council seat

The weeks keep flying by. It just doesn’t seem possible that in less than three weeks we will be celebrating Memorial Day and all the fun parades Queens is famous for. Fortunately, they are spread out over the Memorial Day weekend, making it possible to view more than one. Aside from the fun and festivities of the parades, it’s a good time to reflect on how lucky we are to be living in such a wonderful country. Comment.
