Olympics might land in Queens

Queens could play a key role in the 2012 Summer Olympics if a bid to bring the games to New York City for the first time succeeds.

The proposal, drafted by a Manhattan-based group called NYC 2012, would site the Olympic Village, swimming, diving, softball and tennis events and possibly the Olympic Stadium in Queens. Some details of the plan were reported by the Daily News on Sunday.
