The 111th Police Precinct was honored at the Bally Total Fitness sports club in Little Neck Tuesday for helping the company reduce crime at the gym, which Bally officials said was one of its busiest in the city.
In 1998, the 111th Precinct asked Bally Corp. for permission to do a security survey of the building because of a rash of thefts of personal property from lockers, said Sgt. Gregg Reutter of the 111th Precinct said,
After pinpointing several areas where security could be improved at the Bally Total Fitness club at 245-24 Horace Harding Expressway, Reutter said crime at the gym dropped significantly.
