Today's thought: Under no circumstances should you ever take a memory course from a man who puts his thermal pants on backwards.

Since the long night of winter will take place on Dec. 22, now would be a wonderful time to tell the authentic, veritable, and unfeigned story of how winter began.

It seems in pre-Bob Dole days, and before the advent of Mike Wallace, there was a Greek god named Hades. He not only was the chief god of the underworld area beneath the surface of the earth, but he was also the brother of Zeus, the chief of all Olympian gods.
