City set to start ballfield cleanup

The city is set to begin the much-anticipated cleanup and regrading of the debris-ridden College Point Sports Complex in preparation for reconstruction of the long-abandoned fields, elected officials said.

The news was announced last week in a flurry of simultaneous press releases from state Sen. Frank Padavan (R-Bellerose), state Assemblywoman Nettie Mayersohn (D-Fresh Meadows) and College Point civic leader and Sports Association President Tony Avella.
