Armed man goes after moms, tots

Police last week were searching for the man suspected of a string of frightening gunpoint robberies of mothers with young children in Forest Hills and Richmond Hill.

A police sketch of the suspect, which was released Friday, depicts a black man about 25 years old with a deep scar on his right cheek and a goatee. He is approximately 5-foot-6 with a medium build and was last seen wearing a red bandanna, black leather jacket, and dark jeans and sneakers. The suspect was described to police by his last victim.

In the most recent mugging April 5, the man dragged a young mother and her daughter from the J train as it stopped at the 121st Street station in Richmond Hill shortly after 10 p.m., said Lt. William McGuire of the Queens Robbery Squad.

He pulled a gun on the young woman
