New signs for passengers installed at LaGuardia

By Philip Newman

A system of new, color-coded signs has been installed at LaGuardia and Newark International airports in what officials call a major expansion of customer service that soon will extend to John F. Kennedy International Airport as well and include uniformed representatives ready to help travelers.

The brightly lit signs are already in place at LaGuardia's Central Terminal and at Terminal A in Newark and soon will be installed in other parts of those two airports and at JFK.

The improvements were prompted by a series of customer surveys, said William R. DeCota, director of aviation for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
