Three Queens women who have spent a major part of their lives working to improve the quality of life for the people of northeastern Queens will be honored by the state Senate, state Sen. Frank Padavan (R-Bellerose) announced.

Queens Borough President Claire Shulman; Paula Sharf, executive director of the Pride of Judea Mental Center in Douglaston; and Lucile Helfat, chairwoman of the Northeastern Queens Nature and Historical Preserve Commission, will be joined Tuesday by other women of singular distinction for the third annual Women of Distinction celebration at the state Capital in Albany.
