Lewis unable to shake controversial call

For the Francis Lewis softball team, there was no more bitter a pill to swallow.

After losing to Cardozo 8-7 on a controversial call in the top of the seventh inning last Wednesday, the Patriots took the field Thursday against Bayside in a game that decided the third and final playoff berth in Queens III.

Still feeling the effects of the loss to the Judges, the Patriots fell to the Commodores, 8-4. Bayside secures the final playoff berth and Lewis is left out.
