Off-duty cops kill man on Grand Central Parkway

Two off-duty police officers traveling on the Grand Central Parkway near Holliswood Friday night fatally shot a Georgia man they had stopped to help after he turned against the officers and began to assault them, said Detective Carolyn Chew, a police spokeswoman.

What had prompted Dandre Darnell Cisco, 25, of Rome, Ga., to lunge from the car and attack the well-intentioned cops was still under investigation at presstime, police said.
