Police Blotter: Livery cab driver robbed in Flushing Meadows

By Staff Writers

The driver, whose name was not released, was stopped by three men described by police as Hispanic and in their 30s at 89th Street and Central Park West, said Detective Carolyn Chew, a police spokeswoman.

She said the men asked to be driven to Flushing Meadows Corona Park where the passengers pulled out guns and threatened the driver.

A fourth man, sitting in a parked sedan, got out of his car and assisted in the robbery, during which the driver was hit in the head, Chew said. About $1,900 was stolen, she said.

No arrests had been made.
