Giants take over first place with close win over Jaguars

COLOR=black> The Giants ended their season with a win to secure first place. The Giants were led by quarterback David Pereira, who threw for three touchdowns. Two touchdown passes connected with Rob Liquori and one to Cory Stabile. Outstanding on defense was Jennifer Bonilla, Matt DiGirolomo and Kenny Pinto. Stefanos Tsipas led the Jaguars with excellent running.

Vikings 25, Patriots 18. The Patriots lost the game in the last two minutes. Their only offensive touchdown was a run by Eric Feldman. On defense, Sam Konig and Mike Leon both returned interceptions for touchdowns. Outstanding defense was provided by Jim Marsanico John Naves and Rafael Burges.

49ers 18, Vikings 13. The 49ers were led by Gerard Cash who threw for two touchdowns, connecting with Matt Morotta and Mike Wren. Justin Goodman ran for a touchdown. Defense was the name of the game in this match. The defensive charge was led by co-captain Rick Sostre, Richard Vaituulala and Steve Cervino. The defense played superbly stopping seven Viking drives, including the last drive of the game while in 49er territory with 22 seconds left.

49ers 39, Packers 20. Cash threw four touchdown passes and also caught a pass and ran it in for a score. Wren caught two TD passes, while Goodman caught one and ran one in for a score. Goodman and Joe Wylie each caught a two-point conversion. Vaituulala had an interception and ran it in for a touchdown. Sostre, Aaron Wasserman, Cervino and Morotta shut down the Packer attack.

49ers 33, Patriots 19. Cash threw for four scoring passes, three to Cervino and one to Morotta. Morotta also rushed for a touchdown. Wren, Goodman and Cervino each scored an extra point. The 49ers defense was the key for victory, stopping five Patriot drives and opening up scoring opportunities. Outstanding defense was played by Sostre, Vaituulala and Wylie.
