The New York Metropolitan Country Music Association will hold a Country and Western dance at the Glendale Memorial Building on Feb. 19 featuring the band Bandit and on Feb. 26 featuring the band Concrete Cowboys. Queensborough Community College Department of Music will present a concert by Long Island String Quartet. Forest Hills Branch, 108-19 71st Ave., presents Downpore, a hard-rock concert for adults/teens agers 18-30 by this local band whose members come from Astoria and Ozone Park on Sat., Feb. 26, at 3 p.m. They write all their own music and lyrics and have been attracting large crowds at Greenwich Village and other downtown Manhattan clubs. The Kocian String Quartet is featured in the third event of Music at Hillwood's season of concerts devoted to the musical heritage of Eastern Europe. The concert, on Sun., March 5, at 3 pm, is in the Hillwood Recital Hall at the Tilles Center. Kathleen Landis, an acclaimed pianist/singer, makes her first appearance in Tilles Center's Cabaret “Club T” on Fri., March 10, at 8 pm and 10 pm. The LaGuardia Performing Arts Center at LaGuardia Community College hosts an exciting jazz jam session on March 3.
