FLUSHING – Police approached a car containing two individuals for questioning as they sat parked before an auto parts store at 39-02 Utopia Parkway at 2 a.m. Friday, police said.
As the officer approached the car two individuals were seen climbing down from the roof of the shop, said police spokesman Gary Cillo. One suspect dropped a radio that he was holding and ran but was apprehended a short distance later, Cillo said.
Police said another man observed on the roof had a bag containing a saw, hatchet, pry bar, and flashlight.
Police arrested four suspects who were charged with attempted burglary , criminal trespassing and possession of burglar tools, Cillo said.
Voodoo Lounge manager allowed minor in: Cops
BAYSIDE — A manager at the Voodoo Lounge, at 47-29 Bell Blvd., was arrested in February for allegedly allowing a minor at the club’s bar, police said.
Community Affairs Officer Anthony Lombardi said the manager, who was not identified, was arrested Feb. 23 and charged with unlawfully allowing a minor at the bar.
Police classify a minor as a person under 16 years old, Lombardi said.
Police patrols beefed up at dangerous intersections
BAYSIDE — The 111th Police Precinct has announced accident-prone locations where it plans to increase patrols in March.
Accident-prone locations are subject to additional enforcement, Community Affairs Officer Anthony Lombardi of the 111th Precinct said.
These locations are targeted by police because they had an increase in the number of crashes during the previous month.
The locations are Horace Harding Expressway and Marathon Parkway and Springfield Boulevard and Horace Harding Expressway.
Young man struck by train in Jamaica Hills
JAMAICA HILLS — A man was hit by a subway train Sunday morning in Jamaica Hills, police said.
Officer Valerie St. Rose said the victim, who was 18 to 20 years old, was hit by an F train at 169th Street and Hillside Avenue at about 5:30 a.m. Sunday.
The victim was taken to Mary Immaculate Hospital in serious condition, she said.
Police gave no further details.
Man grazed by bullet during dispute on 95th St.
EAST ELMHURST — A man was grazed by a bullet Sunday morning in East Elmhurst in an ongoing dispute with an acquaintance, police said.
Officer Valerie St. Rose said the victim was at 95th Street and Jackson Mill Road at about 1 a.m. Sunday when he was shot at by a man he knew. The bullet grazed the victim on the side of the head, St. Rose said.
The victim declined medical treatment at the scene, she said. The suspect, Carlos Landrau, 37, was arrested and charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
Woman, after accepting ride, raped in Kew Gardens home
KEW GARDENS HILLS — A 35-year-old-woman was raped Sunday in Kew Gardens Hills, police said.
Jarus Jones, 20, of 153-29 78th Ave., allegedly forced the woman into his home and raped her after offering her a ride at about 3:15 a.m. Monday, Officer Louis Cruz said.
Jones was later arrested and charged with rape and assault.
The victim was taken to Queens General Hospital in stable condition, Cruz said.
$100K in cash stolen from Forest Hills home
FOREST HILLS – A 58-year-old woman returned to her home at 87-04 69 Ave. Tuesday night to find the door unlocked and $100,000 in cash missing from her bedroom, police said.
Police spokeswoman Carmen Melendez said the house was forcibly entered by unknown persons. At press time, no arrests had been made, she said.
17-year-old stabbed in his side on 57th Ave.
ELMHURST — A teenager was stabbed by an unidentified man Monday night, police said.
Det. Madelyne Galindo said the 17-year-old victim, standing at 97-22 57th Ave., was stabbed in his left side by a man who approached him from behind about 9 p.m.
The victim was taken to Elmhurst General Hospital in stable condition, she said. Police were investigating.
Gunmen rob Liberty Ave. deli
OZONE PARK — Two gunmen stole cash from a deli in Ozone Park Sunday night, police said.
Officer Louis Cruz said two men entered the Express Deli at 116-01 Liberty Ave. at about 11:45 p.m. Sunday, displayed handguns, and took the money.
Cruz said the suspects fled on Liberty Avenue.
Police were investigating.
Woman found dead in Middle Village home
MIDDLE VILLAGE — Police responded to a home at 65-29 78th St. Friday at 4:30 a.m. where a man discovered his dead wife lying face down in their bed, police said.
There were no signs of trauma, but the medical examiner was to determine the cause of death, said Detective Theresa Farello, a police spokeswoman.
Teen charged with slashing three people on Queens Blvd.
Sunnyside — A Corona teenager allegedly assaulted three people along Queens Boulevard early last Thursday morning, police said.
David Vidal, 16, of 109-24 110th St. in Corona allegedly approached a 38-year-old man and slashed his face at 36-20 Queens Blvd. at about 5 a.m., said Det. Carolyn Chew, a police spokeswoman.
At about 5:20 he approached a 50-year-old man and stabbed the left side of his neck at 43-19 Queens Blvd., Chew said. Then about a minute later, Vidal assaulted a 60-year-old man, and then struggled with police before submitting to arrest, Chew said.
Vidal was charged with two counts of second degree assault, attempted assault, criminal possession of a weapon and resisting arrest, police said.
Flammable liquid tossed at Ozone Park home
OZONE PARK — A bottle with flammable liquid was thrown at an Ozone Park home Tuesday morning but did little damage, police said.
Det. Madelyne Galindo said the bottle caused minor smoke damage at the home at 104-78 112 St. and that flames from the incident went out by themselves.
There were no reported injuries, Galindo said.
Police were investigating.
