Dwarf Giraffe Roller Hockey: Jesse Halpern skates to two wins in Minors

Minor Division

Jesse Halpern Skate & Tennis Shop 8, ReMax Universal 2. Leading the way for Jesse Halpern was Alex Palazzolo scoring his first goal and assisting on three others. Evan Katz scored his first two goals of the season. Albert Markopolous also scored a goal. Dimitrios Savva made some beautiful passes, recording 3three assists and Nicholas Natsiolaris was great on the defensive end. For ReMax, rookie coach Dominick Favalora was pleased with first-time goalie Eric Tully. Goals were scored by Jeffrey Johnston, with an assist from Joseph Tully, and by Melanie Binanti, with an assisst from Jeffrey Johnston.

Jesse Halpern Skate & Tennis Shop 11, Erin's Isle 9. For Jesse Halpern, Evan Katz scored a double hat trick with six goals and Spiro Markopolous added a hat trick of his own. Albert Markopolous scored one goal and had three assist and Travis Lippert scored a goal and had two assist. Dimitrios Savva continued to pile up his assist total with two more. Alex Palazzolo and Jason Becker displayed fore-checking and first time goaltender Nick Veljacich shut down the high-scoring Isle in the third period.

Major Division

Beat The Clock Printing 13, Point Furniture 8. In a game that was very close for into the third period, Beat The Clock Printing outlasted Point Furniture 13-8. Playing in front of the superb goaltending of Sebastian Bodnar, Sam Sieger and Jimmy Carleo led the scoring with four goals apiece. Also scoring for Beat the Clock were Kevin and Brian Kelley, with two goals apiece, and Chris Weiss with a goal. Excellent play on defense by Zach Sieger and John Dujmovic sealed the victory.

Beat The Clock Printing 10, Venezia Tile 6. In a game that was tied after the end of the first period, Beat the Clock turned on the steam in the second and third periods to inch away from the strong skating crew from Venezia Tile. Leading the scoring for Beat the Clock were Jimmy Carleo with four goals and Brian Kelley with the hat trick. Kevin Kelley, Frank Castelli and Sam Sieger rounded out the scoring. Thomas Mehmet played a superb game on offense, while Mike Weber solidified the defense.

Senior Division

Pizza Chef 1, Sambucci Brothers 1. Pizza Chef and Sambucci Brothers skated to a 1-1 tie. Pizza Chef was led by the excellent goaltending of Rob DiMassi and the strong defense of Matt Valinotti, Anthony DiFalco and Philip McGrory. Steve Whalen scored the lone goal for Pizza Chef, while Marcus Britto, Joe Monte and Jonathan Kupferschmidt played strong two way games.
