Texas Division

North Shore Baptist Church vs. Biordi Construction. Powerhouse pitching and hitting from Parker Moore, Jordan Colflesh and Adam Heuer were key elements in placing North Shore Baptist Church over the top. Also getting the two key hits for the team were Frankie Hoffman and Matthew Dagioia. Charlie Moore, Joey Dibenedetto, Anthony Panepinto, John Dolan, Jonathan Suh, Christopher Kwok and Chris Kakavas also contributed in the win.

K of C – Joyce Kilmer 27, Clearview Paint 12. Despite the score, Clearview had many opportunities thanks to everyone’s ability to stay positive and focus on each play. Patrick Rifino, Michael Bilik and Michael Laucella each reached base safely four times. Patrick Rifino split duties at first base and behind the plate and performed superbly at both. Michael Bilik not only made some outstanding plays at short, but was called on to pitch two innings, which he did beautifully. Michael Laucella added some fine outfield play by consistently keeping the ball in front of him and getting it back into the cutoff man.

Kelly’s Car Service 18, Fader Law 1. Fader Law put forth a valiant effort playing with only eight players. Brian Espinal joined the team and played a strong game and Michael Palamara gave another tough performance in the field and was on base three times.

K of C – Joyce Kilmer 22, Fader Law 1. Despite being on the wrong end of another lopsided score, Fader Law showed their heart and never quit. In the process they showed some improved defense, although not reflected in the score. Travis Mundhenk played very well at three positions and was on base twice and Nicholas Manetta made his pitching debut and had one of his teams only two hits.

PeeWee Division

Depot Furniture vs. York Electric. York Electric scorched the ball in this game, as Anthony Albasini and Michele Balducci both had two big hits. Depot Furniture played an outstanding all-around game , with Kevin Murray displaying flawless defense and Joon Peak as one of the many hitting stars.

Mardene Construction vs. A.S.K. Contracting. Mardene Construction played a super all-around game on this beautiful Sunday. Brian Schade was solid defensively, while teammate Rory McCreesh went 2-for-2 and ran the bases hard. A.S.K Contracting was equally brilliant, as Nicholas Hurley was superior in the outfield with his cannon arm and Cassandra Doephner wielded a big stick at the plate.

Marios Vinoteque vs. A&A Plumbing. Another super PeeWee slugfest saw Marios Vinoteque banging out big hits. Ameer Kazmi was the big star of the hit parade, while teammate Thomas Steffans made gold-glove stops in the fields. Jack Starned and Penny Zbravos led the hard hitting hit parade for A&A Plumbing.

Mensch Lumber vs. Joe Bad. Joe Bad banged out hits, while Jordan Heuer and Matthew Aponte wielded the biggest sticks. Evan Rodriguez was the hitting star for Mensch Lumber with two big hits. Kevin Reilly was outstanding in the field.

Mittman’s Medics vs. Unique Finishes. Michael Levin hit very well in both of his at bats, while in the field Joshua Pernick covered second base and got two force outs for Mittman’s Medics. Unique Finishes was led by the outstanding play of Alexander Liatto, who earned game-ball honors. Jesse Kotler was the batting star with two super hits.

Texas Farm Division

Monahan and Fitzgerald vs. Gardenworld. Julian Machuca received the game ball for outstanding play at first base and Douglas Chu had four outstanding at bats, driving in several runs.

Jackson Hole topped Jan’s Auto, 19 -10. JH pounded out six runs in the first and second innings and again in fourth inning, adding seven runs. The game ball went to Alex Toumanidis, who led the offense with two home runs, while playing excellent defense at third base. Honorable mention to Alexander Sabatino for driving in three.

The Applebee’s leadoff hitter, Andrew Vitti led the hitting attack with four hard hits. Applebee’s continued its hard hitting throughout the game, including another four-hit day by Nicholas Ziangas, with three runs scored. Ryan Pellegrino made a great play in the field by fielding a ground ball and getting a force out at second base Ryan also added three hits and scored three runs.

The Applebee’s Texas Farm League team continued their fine hitting led by Nicholas LaForgia’s three hits, including two doubles, and six runs batted in. Lead-off hitter Julian Sexton sparked the attack with three hits. Vasili Pantazis was solid at the plate with two hits and two RBIs. The team totaled an amazing 27 hits in the game, combined with aggressive base running and a solid effort in the field.

Jackson Hole lost Padavan’s Paragons, 12-6. The game ball went to Zackary Plyam for good defense and scoring one run in fourth inning. Honorable mention to Anthony Laescala, who again scored one run in fourth inning.

R. Klein, CPA vs. Padavan's Paragons. In a tight contest, the game ball for R. Klein, CPA went to Thomas DeCicco for two hits and his gold-glove fielding plays. The offense was powered by Natalie Pruden with a long double and two RBIs.

Minor Division

Starlight Caterers 12, V I Pizza 9. Giancarlo Santillo went 3-for-3 with a home run and Dylan Pleva had two hits in a strong showing for Starlight Caterers and Paul Gorynski and Thomas Lewandowski each scored twice in a losing effort for V I Pizza.

Mardene Construction 15, Centa Plumbing 0. Frank Schnetzer had two hits and three stolen bases and Rob Renzi had a bases-clearing triple to lead Mardene. Dennis Pruden pitched a strong game for Centa Plumbing.

Printing X-Press 20, Donovan’s 16. In a slugfest, the X-Press rolled to a dramatic victory, led by Vince Randazzo and Chris Goger five RBIs each. Down by seven runs in the fifth inning, a double steal ignited an eight-run rally triggered by Brian Campbell and Michael Valente. For Donovan’s. Michael Reiter and Anthony Romanell combined for eight RBIs.

Printing X-Press 5, Starlight Caterers 3. Behind the pitching of Mike Valente and Brian Campbell, combining for 11Ks, the X-Press rolled to a win. Billy Estevez had a bases-clearing double for three RBIs. For Starlight, Rob Schule and Joe Loner had a triple and double to account for two runs.

Party City 7, Starlight Caterers 2. With strong pitching by Jorge Ynoa and strong hitting by Alex Golematis, Party City beat Starlight Caterers with great efforts from Daren Shiu and William Jambois for Starlight.

Party City 19, Printing X-Press 1. Party City exploded for 16 runs in the second inning, led by Luke Tinari, Greg Sullivan and Russ Fedele. Tinari had three hits, four stolen bases and pitched three innings of shutout ball. Sullivan had three hits and four RBIs and Fedele had three hits, three RBIs and two stolen bases. Printing X-Press was led by Chris Goger and Tony Charalambous, as each was impressive at bat and on the base paths.

Major Homes 6, VI Pizza 3. Joey Rizzo was strong at the plate with two hits for Major Homes. Fine defensive playing by Major Homes’ outfielder John Conway. VI Pizza’s Patrick O’Donohue had two fine hits.

Valle Tile and Marble 14, Printing X-press 3. For Valle Tile, Matthew Valle had four hits and pitched three innings, while Krish Chopra started the big rally. For Printing, Brian Cambell had two hits and John Wynne played good defense.

James Engravers 14, Centa Plumbing 6. For James Engravers, shortstop Carlo Cataldo played excellent defensively and had an RBI, while catcher Joesph De Santis had a two-run double in the sixth inning with two stolen bases and a walk. For Centa, Anthony Poreccli was 2-for-3, including a big double in the second inning for an RBI.

Valle Tile and Marble 8, VI Pizza 4. For Valle, Matthew Valle was the hitting star and James O’Brien the fielding star. For Pizza, Sean Monses and Matthew Routh were the hitting stars.

James Engravers 15, Bell Bay Florist 7. For James Engravers, Matthew Diaz showed some great play at second base in the fifth inning to retire side. Jason Shervanick was solid behind the plate in the first three innings, throwing out runners at second base, and Joseph De Santis was 2-for-3, including a double in the fifth inning to bring in two runs. For Bell Bay, Steve Kinnaly was 2-for-3 with a big double in the fifth, while Max Salat was solid defensively in the outfield.

Major Division

Bayside Plumbing 2, Stabile and Stabile CPAs 1. Sal Rongo went five innings for B.P., striking out 10 batters. David Pereira knocked in the only two runs with a bases-loaded double, driving in Peter Black, who started the two-out rally with a long single. For Stabile, Tommy Lee led off the game with a double into the left-field gap, later scoring the first run of the game. Matt Becce threw another complete game for Stabile, giving up only two hits and striking out seven.

Murphy’s Florist 10, Stabile and Stabile CPAs 0. Joe Lynch led Murphy’s by pitching four scoreless innings and allowing only four hits. Joe Bruno and Julius Wells came in to relieve Lynch and save the shutout. Steve Buccellato hit a solo homer for the Florists. Stabile left runners on base every inning and couldn’t buy an RBI.

C.J. Wolfhounds 5, Stabile and Stabile CPAs 4. Trailing 4-1 in the bottom of the third with two outs and bases loaded, Alex Kalinkos launched a 3-2 pitch over the right-center field fence, giving the Wolfhounds the lead, 5-4. Chris Paruch pitched four innings of shutout ball to lock up the win for the Hounds. Matt Becce homered and in relief pitched three shutout innings, striking out seven for Stabile & Stabile.

Applebee’s of Bayside 10, F. Nicholson Law 3. Nicholson’s Nicky Athanosopoulos, Yung June Lee and Augustus Solares combined efforts on the mound could not contain a surging Applebee’s offense. Applebee’s, which evened its record at 2 -2, had some great pitching from the 11-year-old connection of Chris Hamm and Eric Strauss. The offense was led by some fine hitting by Mike Wren and a good catching job by Philip Varsam.

Lloyd’s Funeral Home 3, Biordi Construction 2. George Rowen threw a complete game and scored the two Biordi runs, coming up one run short of the victory and losing to a strong Lloyd’s ball club.

Lloyd's Funeral Home 10, F. Nicholson Law 2. Gerard Cash went the distance for the Home, chalking up a complete-game victory. SunHo Kim went 2-for-4, hitting two home-runs for the victors. Nicky Athanosopoulos hit a two-run homer to account for The Law’s only runs.

F. Nicholson Law 9, Biordi Construction 5. Nicholson’s Jimmy Keen (2-for-4) sparked a sixth-inning, two-out rally with a double and, moments later, scored the tying run and sending the game into extra innings. It was Keen again who scored the go-ahead run in the ninth inning to seal the victory for The Law. Alon Nisim had a big day for The Law, going 4-for-4 with a double. On the mound it was Peter Regan, Augusto Solares and Nicky Athanospoulos combining efforts to thwart Biordi.

Bayside Plumbing 4, Lloyd’s Funeral Home 4. Playing until dark, neither team could gain advantage. David Pereira pitched a strong six for Plumbing and SunHo Kim went six for Lloyd’s, striking-out 13, while giving up nine walks and aiding his own cause with two home runs. For Plumbing, Vin Virgintino turned an inning-ending double play to keep the score tied.

C.J. Wolfhounds 3, Biordi Construction 1. Anthony Zupnick pitched three no-hit innings, knocked in the winning run, and then went behind the plate. There he threw out a runner stealing second and made two put outs, including the game ending out on a laser beam relay from shortstop Chris Paruch. Spiros Caminos pitched all the way for Biordi, striking out 10 batters and yielding only three hits.

Applebee’s 14, Bayside Plumbing 6. Applebee's was led by a strong pitching performance by Chris Hamm and the clutch hitting by Mike Wren and Tim Doepfner. Wren had a single, double and a triple. Nice fielding by the whole team helped Applebee’s to its third victory. Bayside Plumbing was led by Angelo Castanos, who pitched a couple of good innings and had a few hits.

Applebee’s of Bayside 9, Biordi Construction 2. Applebee’s got a strong pitching effort from Mike Karcinski and Chris Hamm, holding Biordi to three hits and combining for eight strikeouts. The whole Applebee’s team hit the ball very well. Mike Biordi tripled for Biordi Construction .

Junior Division

Peter Pan Games 13, Starlight Paint 12. Down by three, Thomas Pollizzi and Mike Gorynski led the rally for Starlight, but Chris Catalanotto ended the 3 1/2 hour game with a two-out double that capped a two-run bottom of the seventh, come-from-behind victory for PPG. Billy O’Donnell pitched a gutsy, complete game to get the win, picking off three runners in the process. Joe Coppola was a solid 3-for-5 and Paul Savino was 2-for-2 with an electrifying steal of home and four RBIs. Speedy Nick Kofteris had three stolen bases and two RBIs.
