College Point’s Diaz tosses perfect game

By The TimesLedger

College Point Little League’s Thomas Diaz, 12, of the Major Division, who is managed by Arthur Zambrotto and coached by Theresa Kenniff and Mario Halim, pitched a perfect game on Monday, April 23 against Queensboro Hill.

Diaz struck out 17 out of 18 batters he faced, allowing a ground out to second baseman, Chris Wick, which was caught to save the no hitter. In the sixth inning, Diaz threw just 10 pitches to strike out the side. The final score was 11- 0. Diaz’s dream is to attend Holy Cross High School and play Major League Baseball.
