Mets top Cards, 11-7, in DAC ation

DAC Pony League

DePhillips Sports Mets 11, Neil Vallins DDS Cardinals 7, The Mets edged the Cardinals, 11-7, behind Jon Blader’s pitching and the hitting of Andrew Pagnozzi, Joe Passerella and Brandon Kopcienski. Anthony Ronzino made some great plays in the field for the Cardinals, while Chris Lynch and Sean Redican pitched well and Keith Fernandez and Evan Lash played great defense.

OLBS Dodgers 11, Estates Animal Hospital Yankees 10. The Dodgers beat the Yankees, 11-10, in their last at bat. David Giancola went 3-for-3 with four RBIs and Nick Occhiograsso got the game-winning hit. The Yankees got solid pitching from Tony Abruzzo and Eric Fox, and clutch hits from Joe Mariani and Joe Brent. Brian O’Connell made some great plays in the outfield.

Reif Park Rangers 20, Exxon at Bayridge D-Rays 11. The Rangers rolled over the D-Rays, 20-11, behind the pitching of Irving Della Concha and Ian Leisenheimer and big hits from Mike Cavataio, Nicky Morgenstern and Travis Swiaticha Mark Sacks pitched a solid game and Jack Eichenger had a huge home run. Matt Memis, Jared Scheiderman, Zane Zdathy and B.J. has solid games in the field.

DAC Texas League

Clearview Point Devil Rays 1, Cafe on the Green A’s 8. The Devil Rays played an outstanding game with an offense led by Molly Karow (single, RBI), Olivia Karow (triple) and David Bilyk, who also contributed key defensive plays along with Charlie Ruffanillo, Justin Lope and Perez Jordan.

The A’s made the game close with the help of Jesse Bagells’ second home run of the season and scoring on a great slide at home. Also with a clutch hits were James Cazzola, Ben Margolin (3-for-3), Max Goodrich (3-for-3) and Mike Zirpoli (triple). Doing a great job with their gloves were Angelo Roverto, Tyler Portolatin and MacCrook at catcher.

St. Anastasia 12, Cafe on the Green A’s 11. In an exciting game that saw just about every player on both teams get hits, it came down to a last licks rally to clinch St. Anastasia’s victory. Key hits in rally were off the bats of Brian Clemens, who tied the game, and Matthew Kane, who got the winning hit. Brain Driscoll had an outstanding day, going 4-for-4. Nick Pantucci had the hot glove at pitcher’s mound and was backed up by Chris Casey and Brian Casey.

The hitting stars for the A’s were Ethan Ampel, Angelo Roverto, Ben Margolin, Mac Crook, Tyler Portolatin, Mike Zirpoli, with another triple, and 4-for-4 performances by Daniel Pazanin and Max Goodrich. Back from the DL List was Julie Wagner, who played solid defense, along with Max Goodrich and Ethan Ampel, who got the A’s game ball for his all-around personal best game so far.
