Bayside L.L.: James Engravers outshine Starlight Caterers, 11-8

Minor Division

James Engravers 11, Starlight Caterers 8. For James Engravers, Cal Sternick was 3-for-4 at the plate with two doubles and a singleand was strong defensively at first base. Joseph De Santis was also 3-for-4 with a single,triple and a home run, with four RBIs on the day. Jon Cioffi played well in center field. For Starlight Caterers, Joe Loner pitched six good innings and had a triple in the fourth to drive in runner. Giancarlo Samtillo, who was 2-for-3 at the plate, played well at shortstop.

Major Homes 5, Mardene Construction 0. For Major Homes, Chris Marzano played solid defense at second base, while Mike Guerra impersonated hall of famer Johnny Bench behind the plate. For Mardene Construction, Joey Schade had two hits.

PeeWee Division

Mittman’s Medics vs. Unique Finishes. After a slow start Andrew Rathaus has been hitting well and went three for three . In the field Matthew Mouallem stayed sharp , even after getting hit with a hard infield grounder.

A.S.K. Contracting vs. A&A Plumbing. Luke Lapi led A.S.K. with strong hitting and a great play in the infield. The game ball went to Cassandra Doepfner for her two solid hits and a “heads -up ” play at first base . Everyone on A&A Plumbing had two hits for a team-wide hit parade .

Depot Furniture vs. Mario ‘s Vinotheque. The stars of the game for Depot Furniture were Jake Schade for his defensive effort and Dillon Destefanis for swinging a big bat. Jordan Chateau hit a home run to left field in addition to some fine fielding for Marios‘s Vinotheque. Teammate James Canellos hit two doubles and also played a fine all around fielding game.

Monahan & Fitzgeralds vs. R Klien CPA. Yianni Economou was hot at the plate recieving the Game ball for 4 outstanding at bats. Michael Tesoriero was the Golden glove at short stop making several outstnding plays David Rojas was outstanding at second base keeping the base runners at bay for the entire game.
