LAKEVIEW, L.I. — A Rosedale man was arrested last Thursday in several hit and run accidents on Long Island, police said.

The New York State Police, Nassau County Police, State Park Police and transit police wall investigated the accidents, which occurred on the Southern State Parkway, on Eagle Avenue and at a Long Island Rail Road Station, said State Park Police Captain Richard O’Donnell.

Kelly Childress, 32, of Rosedale was charged with reckless driving, leaving the scene of two accidents and resisting arrest, police said.

Childress reportedly lost a wheel on his Jeep. State Police Officer Salvatore Spataro intervened when he notice Jeep was missing a wheel.

After Childress allegedly crashed into a transformer at a Long Island Rail Road station in Lakeview, Spataro struggled to arrest him, said State Police Trooper John Whittall.
