DG Roller Hockey: Corona Park grilled by Gary Mann Productions

Senior Division

Gary Mann Productions 4, Corona Park Pork Store 2. In a defensive battle between Gary Mann Productions and Corona Park Pork Store, Gary Mann scored first on a goal by Ken McCrorrie assisted by William Simonetti. Corona Park’s Sal Pinto went solo to tie it 1-1, but Adam Akpinar answered back to put Gary Mann on top 2-1 at the end of first period.

In the second, the defenses of both teams stiffened with excellent two-way play from the likes of Anthony Juliano, Joey Burke, Paul Giacomino, Tim Caffrey, Eddie Johnston and Matt Twomey. But then late in the second, Anthony Mainolfi went solo and banged one home to put Gary Mann on top 3-1 at the end of two periods. In the third, Gary Mann extended its lead to 4-1 on a score off the stick of Guy Seminerio on a nice feed from Joe Monte. As usual, Corona Park wouldn’t go easily, as they continued playing hard and began a comeback on a swift goal from Kevin Gugliemoni, but there just wasn’t enough time left, as Gary Mann held on for a hard-fought 4-2 victory.

Gary Mann Productions 8, Transcreen 2. Gary Mann Productions was hitting on all cylinders from the start and jumped out to an early lead on goals from Ken McCrorrie and Joe Monte with Anthony Mainolfi assisting, ending the first period up 2-0. Gary Mann was still rocking into the second, as Joe Monte netted his second of the game with Scott Seminerio assisting. Transcreen pressed on and answered back on a score by Patrick Brennan, his first of the season, with an assist by AnthonyDiFalco, but Gary Mann rocked-on with goals coming from Ken McCrorie and Scott Seminerio, with Paul Giantiempo and William Simonetti assisting to help build a 5-1 lead at the end of second period.

For an encore, Gary Mann banged out three more hits as Ken McCrorie netted his third goal and Eddie Johnston scored twice with Anthony Mainolfi assisting once more. Transcreen wouldn’t quit though and got a hard-earned goal from Danny O’Niel, as Matt Lupoli assisted, but on this night, Gary Mann was hitting all the right chords to come away on top with the 8-2 win.

Minor Division

Jesse Halpern 12, Mass Electric 7. In a high-scoring affair, Mass Electric was shocked by Jesse Halpern Skate Shop, 12-7. For Mass Electric, Greg Insana lit up the net with two goals and three assists. Brian Schade scored his first goal of the season and Ray Rosa and Andrew Doheny each buried the biscuit twice.
