Jamaica boy scouts take southeast Queens by storm

By Courtney Dentch

Boy Scouting is alive and well in southeast Queens, according to Unit 419, a Jamaica-based Boy Scout troop that just celebrated 36 years of scouting.

The troop is based out of the Rush Temple AME Zion Church at Sutphin Boulevard and 120th Avenue and is going strong, said Scout Master James Williams.

“People think scouting is dead in southeast Queens,” he said. “But we’re still here.”
