DAC: Outback Steakhouse Mets defeat St. Anastasia

DAC Texas League

It was an exciting game with timely hitting and excellent fielding by both teams.

For the Mets, the defensive player of the game was Tyler Portalatin who’s glove work was part of six put outs. Other key plays were turned in by Joshua Choe at first and Anthony Samela at second. The balls flew of the bats of Ian Freed and Joseph Brennan, who had three hits apiece. Jun Yoo and Javor McDonald. Chris Meyers also played a solid game.

The play of the game was turned in by St. Anastasia’s Danny Pelligrino who turned a perfect fly ball catch into a double play by tagging out a base runner to end the inning and rally.

Other defensive stars were Robert Matelsky at first and Nicholas Hurley. St. Anastasia big bats were swung by Chris Munno, Scott Stoner and Mike Kaleda. Jason Kroeger played a great all-around game.

Outback Steakhouse Mets top OLBS No. 6. The Mets came out swinging to start their season with everyone making contact from top, Darren Minsky (3-for-3, four hits) through bottom, Jun Yoo (2-for-2, 1 RBI).

Anthony Bradica, who had three hits, including two doubles, also made a heads up play in the outfield for an out. Other sparkling defensive plays were turned in by Anthony Samela, Johnathan Chaves, Joshua Choe, and Tyler Portalatin.

OLBS’s bats came alive in the later innings with two rallies. Some of the players turning in a solid game were Joe Torelli, John Franco Terezza, Albie Miro and Andrew Candela.

DAC Pony League

DePhillips Sports Reds 16, Heros Boys Club 7. The DAC Pony League opener featured big hits and timely defense. The Reds had four home runs by Matt DeMatteis, Thomas Hubany, Ricky Honya and Adam Greenfield. Ed Orowski, Frank Lorrigio, and Marc Sacks also had key hits to power the Reds defense. Adam Dilluvio, Tom Fullon, Mike Dobrin, Jesse Reshes and Jason Nieves played well defensively and Sebastian Restepo was solid behind the plate on, throwing out two runners. For Hero’s, Larry Cummmings pitched four solid innings and Irving Della Concha hit a two-run home run.
