Police Blotter: Train kills man who fell on tracks

ELMHURST — Raymond Martin, 29, of 37-75 64th St., was killed after he was hit by a subway train Monday about 1 a.m., police said.

Police said Martin, who was apparently drunk, fell on the tracks at Grand Avenue and Queens Boulevard and was hit by a Manhattan-bound E train.

Man found dead, shot in head

WHITESTONE — A 56-year-old man was found face down with a gunshot wound to the head in the bedroom of a home at 199-03 26th Ave. at 6:36 p.m. Friday, police said.

The victim was pronounced DOA at the scene and a 9mm Glock handgun was recovered in the residence, said the NYPD. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death and the investigation was ongoing, police said.

Smear attack on Jews could be bias crime: Cops

BAYSIDE — Anti-Semitic remarks were discovered on the exterior walls of the Bayside Jews Center at 203-05 32nd St. Monday, police said. The remarks were on the outside of the synagogue as well as on the walls of an inside office, said the NYPD.

The incident, police said, was being investigated as a possible bias crime.

Robber makes noteworthy heist at Astoria Federal

COLLEGE POINT — An unidentified man handed an Astoria Federal Savings Bank teller a note about 2:45 p.m. Monday then fled with more than $1,390, police said.

According to the Police Department, the man, possibly in his late 20s, walked into the bank branch at 30-33 Stratton St. and presented the note demanding money. The police report did not indicate if a weapon was used.

There were no arrests and the investigation was ongoing, said the NYPD.

Man listed as serious after neck stabbing

ELMHURST — A 25-year-old man was stabbed in the neck by an unknown suspect Monday about 11:34 p.m. at the corner of Roosevelt Avenue and 103rd Road, police said. The victim was taken to Elmhurst General Hospital and was listed in serious condition, the NYPD said.     

There were no arrests and the investigation was ongoing, police said.

Man found dead, cause unknown

ROCKAWAY — Thomas Conaboy, 63, was discovered dead in his home at 223 Beach and 122 Street Monday at 4:41 a.m., police said.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death, said the NYPD.

Emergency crew saves seal washed ashore

ROCKAWAY — The Emergency Service Unit rescued a seal that had come ashore near Beach 74th Street and the Boardwalk, police said.

Dispute triggers shootings, one dies, suspect arrested

CORONA — Police arrested Hussein Wahhab, 25, 116-02 139th St. for allegedly shooting a 32-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman in a parking garage at 97-30 57th Ave. Monday about 9:38 p.m., police said. Charges were pending.

Hussein in a dispute allegedly shot Charles Culmer of 97-28 57th St. in the chest and an unidentified woman in the face, said the NYPD. After being shot, the couple tried to escape in their 1999 Ford and collided with a 2000 Nissan at 57th Avenue and 97th Street, police said.

Both victims were taken to Elmhurst General Hospital where Culmer was declared dead at 10: 53 p.m. and the woman was listed in serious condition, police said. They NYPD report did not say if the Nissan was occupied at the time of the collision or if anyone else was injured.

Motive for the shooting was unknown, said the NYPD.

Cops heading to crime scene hurt in collision with vehicle

RICHMOND HILL — Two 102nd Precinct police officers racing to the scene of an assault early Sunday morning were injured when their police car crashed into a civilian operated vehicle, police said.

The officers, identified only as Police Officers Navarro and Lopiccolo, were taken to Jamaica Hospital with non-life-threatening head and neck injuries, police said. They were also having difficulty breathing, police said.

The civilian motorist, who was not identified, was initially listed in serious condition at Jamaica Hospital, but was later upgraded to stable condition, police said.

The two officers heading to an assault scene at 118th Street and Atlantic Avenue around 4 a.m. were traveling southbound on Lefferts Boulevard when they collided with another vehicle on 89th Avenue.
