Kearney, a junior forward from Valley Stream, led the Stanners to a 9-0 rout of St. Joseph by the Sea Friday night by scoring three of his team’s four first period goals.

For Kearney, among the leading scorers in the CHSHL B division, it was his first career hat trick. He also added an assist on Mike Farrell’s third period goal.

“It was good we scored goals to put us up early, it put the pressure on them,” said Molloy coach Richie Rodgers. “Sean picked his corners and I’m glad for him. I just wish we could have saved a few of those goals for later in the year.”

Kearney’s teammate, sophomore Harrison Knee, recorded his first career shutout in his first career start. A night after stopping 19 shots in the blanking, the Broad Channel native made 33 saves in a 5-3 win over Kellenberg. Stanners forward Matt Davino scored four goals and added four goals in the 2-0 weekend … Fairfield-signee Candice Lindsay, one of seven seniors on the nationally ranked Christ the King girls’ basketball team to signed a letter of intent to play Division I basketball next year, scored a game-high 25 points, including 11 in the first quarter in an 89-42 rout of Maine Class A state champions Catherine McAuley. Fellow seniors Shay Doron, heading to Maryland, had six of the Royals’ 12 steals and George Washington-bound Amanda LoCascio added nine assists … Natasha Page had 15 points and nine rebounds off the bench for the Francis Lewis girls’ basketball team in a 58-54 win over St. Michael’s … Jessica McEntee netted 23 points and Annamarie Ciorciari added 16 points for the undefeated Molloy girls’ basketball team in a come-from-behind 65-48 win over Norristown (Pa) … Japhet McNeil and Mitchell Beauford have led the Christ the King boys’ basketball team into the semifinals of the Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C. McNeil had 20 points and eight assists and Beauford added 12 points in a 62-51 win over Denham Springs (La) and Beauford scored 20 points and McNeil had 19 in a 67-55 win over Calhoun County (SC) … Brad Weirzbicki netted 29 points for Cathedral Prep in a 65-50 win over Flushing in the Cathedral Prep Holiday Tournament.
