“I am very pleased that the State Department has allowed Queensborough to open a passport application office,” said Howard L. Lapidus, senior vice president for finance and administration at the college.

“Not only may people file applications at the bursar’s office, but they may have their passport photo taken at the college as well. This service is in keeping with the Queensborough and City University tradition of serving the residents of New York City in addition to the members of our college community,” he added.

The hours the window is open are 10 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The center is closed during peak registration periods, usually one week before and one week after the first day of class each semester. The general information phone number of the center is 718-281-5642.

The office forwards all applications to Passport Services, the government office in charge of issuing passports. It is not involved in decisions regarding issuance. To find out further information regarding the status of a new passport, call the National Passport Information Center at 888-362-8668.
