DAC Texas League

Prudential LI Realty Yankees 11, Video Z. Mets 10. The Yankees ended the Mets’ undefeated streak with another thrilling game that exhibited excellent all-around ball playing by the boys and girls on both squads.

As the Mets surged in the final inning with a two-run rally and the tying and go-ahead runs with no outs, the play of the game was turned in by shortstop Jun Yoo, who caught a popup and doubled up the lead runner. The following batter grounded out to end the game.

Having a big day at the plate for the Yankees were Anthony Semela, with four hits including a triple and two RBIs; Zachary Rosenblum, with three hits and one RBI; Jan Yoo, with three hits and one RBI; Max Arm, who has greatly improved his swing, with two hits and two RBIs; and Teddy Lampropoulas, who had a clutch RBI.

Leading the way on defense were Corey Still, Alex Ligas, Samela, Ruiz and Anthony Bradica, who in addition to playing a solid first base made a heads-up play in the outfield by getting a force-out at second.

The Mets all-star performances at the plate were turned in by Joshua Samet; Johnathan Rasoff; Dennis Frame; Corey Mittenthal, with a four-hit day; Anthonny Zullo, with three hits including a double; and Anthony Agnello as the table-setter, with four hits and three runs scored.

The team’s defense was shored up by Zullo’s pitching and Evan Zimmern at first, along with Mittenthal at shortstop. Also playing well was Vassili Grigarakes.
