Big ‘A’ offers fun for everyone


Now in its seventh year at Aqueduct Racetrack in South Ozone Park, the fair includes more than 100 rides, games, free attractions…

The Big “A” Fair, with more than 100 rides, games and free attractions will wrap up its stay at Aqueduct Racetrack Sunday.

Now in its seventh year at Aqueduct Racetrack in South Ozone Park, the fair includes more than 100 rides, games, free attractions and entertainment for families to enjoy.

This year’s fair features a larger, brand new lay-out and several new and exciting rides including the awesome “Mark 1” roller coaster, giant Ferris wheel, the spectacular “Fireball,” and many other rides and games for both children and adults to enjoy.

Circus Hollywood returns with several all-new free shows daily. This year’s Circus Hollywood includes the “Globe of Death” motorcycle daredevils, high wire and aerial performances, circus clowns, Miss Stevana and her performing poodles, Stevana’s Hollywood Fresian Horse Show and many other performances. Other attractions include the Hollywood Petting Zoo with more than 50 exotic animals including a baby giraffe. The Hollywood Pig Racers will also races several times a day during the fair.

Visitors will have one last chance to see illusions and magic of Lance Gifford. This free daily show includes “metamorphosis,” an illusion once performed by the late, great Harry Houdini, as well as disappearing animals and audience participation.

Fair gates open to the public Weekdays at 5 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 1 p.m. The Fair closes each evening at midnight. The fair can be reached by public transportation and is wheelchair-accessible.
