Mayfair of Great Neck hosts two local authors

The Mayfair of Great Neck, a Sterling Glen independent living community for seniors, will host “Meet the Author,” featuring award-winning journalist Marcelle S. Fischler and award-winning designer Glenn A. Bucalo on Tuesday, Aug. 26, beginning a

Bucalo is the publisher and creator of the recently released “Ultimate Book of Great Neck,” which is a celebration of Great Neck past and present. Hidden histories of the Gold Coast peninsula, photo montages of celebrity homes and historical images fill the 248 pages along with practical information on Great Neck’s nine villages including the local arts scene.

Fischler’s column, the Long Island Journal, appears each Sunday in the Long Island section of The New York Times. In addition to authoring more than 400 articles for the Times, the 20-year resident of Great Neck has published work in Family Circle and Jewish World.

Bucalo, a native Long Islander, is president of Target Marketing & Design, the advertising, packaging and web design studio that he founded in 1988. His studio created the highly successful EZ Guide Maps of Long Island.
