To The Point: Classes to begin again for Point’s kids, adults

Welcome to the Point. The Point being College Point. It seems that summer is coming to a close and the coming of colder air is shortly behind.

Register for the 2003-2004 school year. Nursery, Pre-K Half Day and Full Day Programs. Seats available for the lower and upper grades. School office will be still be open for registration on Aug. 28 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. School begins on Wednesday, Sept. 3, at. St. Fidelis.

It’s time for Diocesan Golden Wedding Anniversary celebrations. This year’s golden wedding anniversary celebration is Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003 at 2 p.m. at St. Mel’s Church in Flushing with Bishop Valero presiding. Each couple will be presented with a personalized scroll and light refreshments will be presented following the ceremony. For all couples married in 1953, we ask that you take part in this special prayer service. If you are celebrating your 50th anniversary, please call the rectory before Sept. 26.

St. Agnes Academic School 13-20 124 St., College Point, is offering a series of seven High School Entrance Exam (Co-op) prep classes for girls and boys beginning Thursday, Sept. 25. For information or an application, please call 718-6276 ext. 18.

Holy Trinity Ladies Bowling League 2003/2004 season starts next month. Anyone interested in the league please contact Jo Tauraso at 718-746-0913. The League Meeting will be on Thursday, Sept. 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the rectory basement.

Holy Trinity Rosary Society Buffet Breakfast , Sept. 21 serving from 8 AM to 12 noon. Adults $10, children (4-12) $7, children under 4 free.

Poppenhusen Institute News: Sept. 6 at 1 p.m., Anger Management, learn how to deal with and express anger. Following at 2 p.m. Stress Reduction, techniques will be shared.

SABINA SAYS…It was wonderful celebrating my birthday at Café On The Green and, of course, the owner, Joe, was there and added to my celebration. It was also nice having my grandsons, Eric and Brian, and my daughter join us.
