A red Pontiac sedan blew out a tire, dented a wheel rim and suffered some minor body damage after the car’s owner drove over the sinkhole without seeing it. Bayside resident Nicolaos Tzortzatos, 23, said he did not notice the hole, but onlookers said it was already there when he drove over.
Tommy Tsiolis, a friend who drove by earlier, said the hole was not there when he passed about 30 minutes before but that there had been a depression in the roadway.
