Joseph Russell, 40, a nightclub bouncer, was found guilty May 14, 2003 of the attack at the woman’s residence on Seagirt Boulevard, the DA said. Sentencing was delayed by almost a year, Brown said, because of post-trial motions by the defense team.<
“The defendant's girlfriend was so severely beaten by the defendant that she lost her right eye,” Brown said in a release. “The punishment of a lengthy prison term is more than warranted, and I hope the victim receives solace knowing that her attacker can no longer inflict pain upon her.”
