WOODSIDE — A 9-year-old girl was injured when she was pushed down a flight of stairs Friday at PS 12 in Woodside, Newsday reported.

Heather Gorman, a fifth-grader from Elmhurst, underwent a three-hour surgery for a head fracture after she hit her head on a radiator valve. Now in stable condition, she was allegedly pushed by a fifth-grade boy who will be suspended, according to Newsday.

Gorman’s family is criticizing the school for waiting to call 911 after the incident, Newsday said.
