DZV Cardinals Fly High Over St. Anastasia No. 3, 7-2

The Cardinals’ hot hitting led the way to a big win over a young and tough St. Anastasia team No. 3.

The sluggers for the Cardinals were Teddy Lampropoulas, Matthew Lees, Luke Kaplan, Robert Caneiro, Alec Zimmern and Max Arm, as well as Darren Minsky and Joey Navas, who each had doubles. But the big hit of the day was a monster home run by Anthony Agnello.

Special mention goes to Alex Ligas, who made his first career plate appearance as a switch hitter and drove in a run. David Lohle also had a great game.

St Anastasia’s defense was led by the pitcher and first baseman combination of Bobby Spitz and TJ Derby. Also turning in a solid performance with his glove was Justus Acosta.

The hitting stars were Daniel Salloum and Luke Barragan, who each drove in a run; and Joe Cicak, Bob Spitz and Brian Chiang, who had two hits apiece. Joseph Mattone and Brett Baker also played a great game.
