MASPETH — A man in his 30s stole a traffic agent’s car in Maspeth Tuesday, drove it for six blocks and got out, after which the vehicle caught fire, police said.

The agent, whose name was not released, was writing a ticket at the intersection of 58th Place and Maspeth Avenue when an unknown man took the agent’s car and drove it to 68-02 53rd Drive before getting out, police said. The vehicle then caught fire, police said.

No arrests have been made, and the fire marshal and police were investigating the case.
