Queens College has invited the Alliance of Queens Artists to present a juried exhibit of fine arts and crafts at its Flushing campus on Wednesday, July 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The show, which is free and open to the community, will be held in the sculpture garden (and adjacent areas) between Klapper Hall and the dining hall. Visitors will have the opportunity to stroll among the exhibits, speak to the artists, and watch demonstrations of artistic techniques, which are scheduled between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Food and beverages will be available in the nearby dining hall.

Participating artists will include professional painters, sculptors, and potters, most of whom are members of Alliance of Queens Artists. In addition, AQA is sponsoring a Jury Award Competition for Queens College students. The artworks range in price and are affordable.

The Alliance of Queens Artists is a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to the creation, appreciation, and promotion of the visual arts. Its goal is to make art accessible to the general public by presenting exhibitions, lectures, hands-on demonstrations and other art-related events in various venues throughout the metropolitan area. AQA’s gallery is located at 99-10 Metropolitan Ave. in Forest Hills. More information is available at: www.arts4u.org or by calling 718-520-9842.
