SPRINGFIELD GARDENS — A Manhattan man sitting in the back seat of a 1994 Mazda was killed early Friday when the car was rear-ended by a van, police said.
The Mazda and a 2002 Ford van were traveling eastbound on Rockaway Boulevard near Guy R. Brewer Boulevard about 3:20 a.m. Friday when the van slammed into the Mazda in front of it, police said.
The 32-year-old man in the back of the Mazda, whose name was not released, was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he died. The drivers of the vehicles and another passenger in the Mazda were not injured, police said.
No summonses or arrests were made and the investigation was continuing, police said.
