Officer charged in run-in with another tenant: Police

Officer Sam Esposito, 40, was arrested on charges of third-degree criminal mischief, a felony, the official said. A 19-year veteran assigned to the Queens Housing Bureau, Esposito was believed to have been on modified duty when he was arrested, according to the same official.The alleged incident was said to have occurred earlier in the day, according to police. Esposito allegedly ripped the dish from its mounting on the roof of the building in Richmond Hill.The tenant, Edgar Feliciano, 46, called police and the department's Internal Affairs Bureau conducted an investigation.The alleged incident marks the second time Esposito had a run-in with the law.In August 2003, he changed a tenant's locks and stole some of her property after she failed to pay her rent the month before, the police official said. He was charged with larceny and burglary but did not serve jail time by pleading guilty to disorderly conduct and agreeing to pay the victim $2,500 restitution, he said. According to a report in Newsday, the tenant was living in an Ozone Park building at the time.
