JetBlue launches Kennedy to Calif. flights this spring

“Burbank has been waiting for nonstop service to New York for 75 years,” said JetBlue founder and Chairman David Neeleman. “You can't get any closer to Hollywood than the convenient Bob Hope Airport.” JetBlue said it would start serving Burbank on May 24 with flights from John F. Kennedy International Airport with three daily flights and a fourth to start on July 15. It will be JetBlue's seventh California destination.Charles Lombardo, president of the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority, hailed the new service.”All of us at Bob Hope Airport are very excited to see JetBlue starting service to New York from Burbank,” Lombardo said. “With so much of the entertainment industry headquartered here, flights to the Big Apple are a great match with our airport.”JetBlue said it would offer an introductory sale fare between JFK and Burbank of $99 one-way and $119 one-way between Burbank and Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse, N.Y, and Burlington, Vt.The sale fares must be purchased by March 17 for travel from May 24 through June 16.The airline's regular fare will range from $124 and $299 one-way.JetBlue also said it would introduce new daily service to Portland, Ore., from JFK and a second daily nonstop between Seattle and Kennedy.
