Girl Saved After Falling On Tracks

By —Tom Tracy

A 14-year-old girl was pulled from an almost certain death Tuesday as she fell onto the subway tracks at the Sheepshead Bay station near Voorhies Avenue, officials said. According to police and published reports, 14-year-old Erica Chiu was on her way to Stuyvesant High School at 6:50 a.m. on January 3 when she reportedly suffered a seizure and fell onto the track bed, striking her head against one of the rails. That’s when officials said an unidentified teenage savior jumped down onto the track bed and pulled her up. The boy who saved the girl apparently disappeared before police officers arrived. Margaret Tarulli, a Human Resources Administration Officer, gave the teenage girl CPR, according to the New York Post. The girl was resting comfortably at home with her parents, according to officials.
