Shoulda Called the Cops

To The Editor:

It was very upsetting to hear about the torture death of little Nixzmary Brown.

Sadly, when the polite, soft-spoken social workers went to her home to investigate, they were denied entry.

Perhaps, if these social workers had been accompanied by a polite, soft-spoken uniformed police officer, the results might have been different.

We must all be aware of child abuse, domestic violence and elder abuse.

If those involved need counseling and guidance, they should get it. If they are criminals, they should be treated as such.

Let us not turn our backs on the victims. If you see something, say something. If you hear something, tell someone.

Remember, the attitude of the police is, “if in doubt, call us out.”

Let us show concern for each other. This will make all our lives better.
