MTA officials finally put their foot on the brakes halting several bus drivers from traveling illegally through residential streets in the Gun Hill Road community and have cleared up the confusion surrounding the potentially dangerous situation the drivers brought on the neighborhood.
Several months ago, residents complained that city bus drivers were attempting to avoid using the busy Eastchester Road area and instead traveling through Lodovick, Tiemann and Mace avenues to get to the MTA bus depot. The illegal action continued to take place especially during the time of 2:45 and 3:15 p.m. each week day. The problem was reported to the MTA and swift action was promised.
