Parish Renewal Program

Why bother with religion and prayer when God doesn't seem to listen or care anyway?

Where can I go when I look at myself in the mirror and see only the questions and craziness in my life?

What can I build my life on when the bottom falls out of my world?

Why bother with religion and prayer when God doesn't seem to listen or care anyway?

Where can I go when I look at myself in the mirror and see only the questions and craziness in my life?

Father Frank Sutman from St. Stephen Priory in Massachusetts will be conducting It Isn't Who I Am, But Whose I Am!, a parish renewal program designed to awaken faith and attempt to address these very questions at the Church of St. Thomas Aquinas.

Every day at 12 p.m. from February 12-15, there will be a Parish Mission Mass with Preaching at the church. The evening sessions will be begin at 7:30 p.m. with a brief Prayer Service and follow with the talk and question taking concluding at 9 p.m.

Frank Sutman, the 53-year-old Dominican friar leading the event, is a former infantry officer, missioner in Africa and Russia, and prison chaplain, who likes to “keep it real” as he helps people get back to the basics of prayer. He operates under the belief that if “something doesn't work at home, don't try and export it” because “people will know it's a rip off!”

He preaches out of his experience of the Gospel in order to address the “real needs of men and women just trying to get through the week by the grace of God.”
