S. Ozone Park man charged in shooting

Val Mackins, 19, of 131-44 132nd St. was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon for allegedly approaching Jeffrey Pickins, 21, at about 12:15 p.m. in front of 24 Monument Walk and shooting him once in the chest, investigators said.
