Kidnapped Off of Lorraine Street At Gunpoint: Trio Takes Local Woman On Terrifying Ride And Threatens to Kill Her

By Tom Tracy

A 29-year-old woman was taken on a terrifying ride from Red Hook to Tarrytown last week, constantly facing the business end of a pistol, area police announced. Police sources said that at least three men have been arrested for whisking the woman off Lorraine Street during the early-morning hours of February 10, taking her upstate and holding her against her will – possibly for several days. Their names had not been released. When the suspects finally decided to abandon their victim, they took her to a thatch of woods and decided to “play with her head” by telling her that they were going to kill her at any moment, according to officials. The woman took the initiative and ran off deeper into the woods, hearing the crack of a gunshot in the distance, she claimed. Police said that the victim was too shaken to report the incident until February 18. The three suspects were taken into custody by Tarrytown police in short order. Investigators did not release just how long the victim was with her captors, or if she had been sexually abused. As of this writing, a spokesperson for the Westchester District Attorney’s office could not confirm if the three men have been arraigned or indicted. Officials said that the victim, a resident of Sunset Park, was on the 80 block of Lorraine Street at 4 a.m. on February 10 when the three suspects – who she may have known – grabbed her. The suspects pulled a gun on her, robbed her of $400, said officials. They then bounded her hands with duct tape and forced her into their vehicle. Cops were not alerted to the abduction until 3:30 p.m. on February 18 when the victim flagged down a State Trooper, telling him what had happened.
