Road Rage Shooter Arrested The pony-tailed man wanted for nearly crippling a motorist during a road rage incident that started in Bensonhurst and ended with the smell of gun smoke in Dyker Heights is in custody, cops from the 68th Precinct announced this week. Renato Arcuri of the 6600 block of 14th Avenue surrendered to detectives at the 68th Precinct on December 26, after investigators had identified him as the alleged triggerman in the December 22 shooting. Georgiy Fattakhov, 20, told police that he and his friend were driving past the corner of 65th Street and 20th Avenue at 3 p.m. when a white SUV driven by Arcuri allegedly cut him off. Police said that Fattakhov gave chase, stopping Arcuri a few blocks away. After a heated exchange of words, Arcuri allegedly took a bat from his SUV and beat Fattakhov with it. When Fattakhov fled to his car and sped off, Arcuri chased the 20-year-old to 10th Avenue and 66th Street, pulled a Derringer pistol and shot him in the torso, police alleged. Fattakhov was rushed to Lutheran Medical Center, where doctors discovered that Arcuri’s bullet just missed his spine. After a search of the area, cops found Arcuri’s SUV in the nearby driveway that he rented from an area homeowner. Investigators also located the gun, which was found secreted in a hole in the ground near the car, covered with a chunk of concrete. By that Friday night, investigators identified Arcuri as the alleged shooter. Arcuri surrendered the day after Christmas with his attorney and was charged with attempted murder, assault and menacing. Detectives William Colvin, Jimmy Carrion and John Kavaungh of the 68th Precinct detective squad and Police Officers Joe Argelli and Felix Malave, also of the 68th Precinct, were credited with Arcuri’s arrest. Off-Duty Cop Shot A 25-year-old police officer was rushed to the hospital on December 23 after someone fired off a gun at a Sheepshead Bay party he was attending. Police said that the officer was off duty and celebrating with friends at an address on the 2400 block of East 16th Street near Avenue X at 1:30 a.m. when someone discharged a gun outside the location. The gunman fired three times into the window. Police said that the cop, a resident of Long Island, suffered a graze wound to his arm. No other injuries were reported. The gunman was still at large as this paper went to press. One Latte Too Many A 29-year-old woman exploded at a worker in a Coney Island Dunkin’ Donuts last week, throwing her boiling hot drink in his face and then attacking him with a freezer door, police alleged. Jasmine Aly was taken into custody on charges of assault, menacing, criminal mischief and harassment following the piping hot altercation inside the Dunkin’ Donuts at the Exxon gas station at the corner of Coney Island and Neptune avenues on the morning of December 27. Officials told reporters that Aly came into the store at 6 a.m. and ordered a hot chocolate. She paid for the coco and left, only to come back moments later, outraged that her drink wasn’t topped with whip cream. The worker said that she didn’t put on any whip crime because she didn’t order whip cream. When she demanded whip cream, he told her that they had run out. Her rage curdling, Aly began screaming at the worker. When he ordered her to leave the store, she allegedly threw her hot coco into his face, burning his skin. When co-workers locked the doors and called 911 to have her arrested, Aly somehow managed to snap a freezer door from its housing and strike the co-worker with it, officials alleged. Responding officers arrested Aly without incident. The worker was treated at the scene, officials said. Robbed on Irwin Street A 19-year-old man told police that he was forced out of his car and robbed at gunpoint as he rolled down Irwin Street in Manhattan Beach last week. The victim said that two black males ran up to his vehicle as it rolled down the street between Oriental and Shore boulevards at 11:50 p.m. on December 24. The suspects threw open the door, yanked their victim out of the car and then pulled a gun on him, demanding his property. The suspects fled the area with $1500 in cash, a cell phone and the victim’s Rolex watch, officials said. No injuries were reported. Cops are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward. Calls can be made to the 61st Precinct at (718) 627-6611. All calls will be kept confidential. Shopping With Knife Cops are looking for a 30-year-old male wanted for holding up a worker at a Bensonhurst clothing store at knife point. Cops from the 62nd Precinct were told that the suspect entered La Bavetta, 7414 18th Avenue, at 6:40 p.m. on December 26 claiming that he wanted to buy clothes for his two-year-old child. An employee was about to assist the man when he suddenly pulled out a knife and demanded the money in the register. The thief forced the worker into the rear of the store, emptied the cash register of $40 and ran off, officials said. No injuries were reported. Chased Into Cell Two teens were arrested after they were spotted allegedly robbing a man at the corner of Bath Avenue and 24th Avenue last week. Cops from the 62nd Precinct said that Sharkeem Reid, 17, and Marcus Lopez, 16, allegedly grabbed their victim just before 3 p.m. on December 28 and punched him in the face, demanding to know what he had in his pockets. But just before they took their victim’s property, two witnesses chased them away. Based on the witnesses descriptions of the two men, responding officers easily tracked down and arrested the two teens, charging them both with robbery. Drive-By Robbery Three men in a Toyota Corolla are being sought for kidnapping a man off an area street corner and robbing him of $400. The 34-year-old victim told police that he was walking past the corner of Bath Avenue and Bay 34th Street at 11:20 a.m. on December 28 when the car rolled up to him. Three Hispanic males got out and forced the victim into the vehicle. As they drove around, the suspects beat the victim and robbed him of his cash, officials were told. They then dropped him off right back on Bay 34th Street, just a short distance away from where they grabbed him. Cops are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward. Calls can be made to the 62nd Precinct at (718) 236-2611. All calls will be kept confidential. Knocked Down and Robbed A purse snatcher knocked a 58-year-old woman to the ground and ran off with her handbag at the corner of Shore Parkway and 20th Avenue last week, officials said. The victim told investigators that she was nearing the corner at 10:30 p.m. on December 27, on her way home from a nearby bus stop, when the unidentified Hispanic male threw her to the ground. The thief ran off with the purse, as well as the $30 and credit cards inside, officials said. Beaten and Robbed Four thugs are being sought for pummeling and then robbing a 14-year-old boy as he made his way to school last week. Police said that the teen was walking past the corner of 62nd Street and 18th Avenue at 7:30 a.m. on December 18 when the four teens jumped him, repeatedly punching him in the face. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of money from the teen and ran off, officials said. Caught In The Act Cops are looking for two thieves who were found rummaging around a Bensonhurst home, cops from the 62nd Precinct said last week. The homeowner, a resident of the 8100 block of 21st Avenue, told police that he was in his bedroom at 1:15 p.m. on December 19 when he heard the sound of a window breaking. He went downstairs to investigate and saw two men walking through his home, officials said. Once they realized they had been spotted, the two suspects ran out of the house, taking an assortment of jewelry with them. Police were told that the suspects jumped into a waiting car and sped off. More on Xmas Eve Corpse The 30-year-old man found murdered inside his car outside Nick’s Lobster Fish Market was probably done in by a close friend or acquaintance, sources close to the case revealed last week. While no suspects have been named, detectives are working on the theory that the victim was killed somewhere else and was then deposited in the parking lot outside Nick’s, which is just a stone’s throw away from the Belt Parkway. “They [the killers] probably jumped off the Belt Parkway and abandoned the car here,” said the source, adding that detectives are investigating a “number of leads.” “It’s a possibility that he was killed by someone he knew,” the source added. Officials said that the victim was found in the lot outside of 2777 Flatbush Avenue at 4 a.m. on December 24. The car was registered in Florida, but owned by the victim, who lived in Patterson, New Jersey but frequented nearby East Flatbush. Cops are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward. Calls could be made to either the 63rd Precinct at (718) 257-4411 or the NYPD CrimeStoppers hotline at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential. Frame Job Cops are looking for three males who took $1000 worth of pricey eyeglass frames from a Coney Island Avenue store. Officials said that one of the three suspects entered Lavela Optical just before 4 p.m. on December 23 and asked a manager to open a case so he could look at a pair of Cartier wood frames. When the manager went to open the case, the man said that he had changed his mind and asked to be buzzed out of the store. As the manager did so, the suspect held the door open to his two accomplices, who pried the case apart and removed twelve pairs of the Cartier frames. The suspects fled the scene without showing any weapons, officials said. Senior Robbed An 86-year-old woman told police last week that she was pushed to the ground and robbed of her pocketbook as she walked down the 1900 block of Quentin Road. The woman said that she was walking down the street at 3:45 p.m. on December 21 when a 19-year-old male dressed in all black grabbed her from behind and threw her to the ground. The suspect snatched up the woman’s purse, which had $100 inside, and ran off, officials said. The purse snatcher was still at large as this paper went to press, officials said. Perps Pluck PSP Two males with a knife robbed a 16-year-old boy of his PlayStation Portable (PSP) as the teen entered his Midwood building recently. The victim, a resident of the 1800 block of East 12th Street, said that he walked into his building at 10:10 p.m. on December 20 and was ascending a staircase when he was stopped by two unidentified males who asked him where apartment 4L was. The teen was about to give the suspects directions when one of the men pulled a knife, demanding his game system. The suspects were last seen running out of the building with the PSP and a game, officials said. No injuries were reported.
